SilverFin by Charlie Higson

It's British, that's one reason to like it. In fact, that should be like, a whole ten reasons to like it in my opinion. It's also James Bond, but as a kid. I'm not really sure how old he is, around 13. The book teaches you facts you have no reason to know, unless you play Trivial Pursuit and I did AND I WAS SO EXCITED THAT I ACTUALLY KNEW A SPORTS QUESTION!!!!!!!!!! : D
' "A dry bob is a boy who plays cricket, and a wet bob is one who chooses rowing."
"Really?"
"Yes, really."
"And what do you call a boy who doesn't do either?"
"A slack bob" '
BOOM! Right there. I'm awesome.

Anyway, as far as I can tell, the evil person (such great vocabulary right?) is an American ('Murca) that is rich and is plotting something to do with flesh eating eels. Oh, and he makes and sells weapons. Lovely.

How to Train Your Dragon series by Credissa Cowell

Don't you hate it when you find out a really good book you've read is coming out as a movie and you get all excited then you watch the movie and you want to murder the movie company? I sure do. Anyway, that's what happened with this book. For those of you that have seen the movie but haven't read the book; first of all, EVERYBODY trains a dragon. Second of all, Toothless is really toothless... and very small and useless and completely ordinary. So, what does Hiccup do with a toothless dragon, a useless friend(Fishlegs), and a girl that can fight better than him, Fishlegs, and Toothless combined? Well, he goes and gets a foe that JUST WON"T FREAKING DIE!!!!! Sorry, it's a bit frustrating.

The Middle School Series by James Patterson

Rafe hates middle school (Hence the title; Middle School: The Worst Years Of My Life). In my opinion, it's freaking beast-mode(compared to elementary). So, he and his friend Leo decide to make a game to make ms (middle school) more fun... and end up with detentions, expulsion, and get a ride in the back of a police car(if this is wrong, please tell me. I haven't read the book in while). So...yeah. At least he got Jeanne Galletta to notice him. Yup.

The Hourglass Door by Lisa Mangum

You've never been kissed before. You have a boyfriend, although he wants to wait for the "perfect" time. Which is apparently your birthday. Also his. Then an Italian (and very hot) exchange student comes into the picture when he wants to join the school play(which you are the assistant director of). Remember how you've never been kissed? Not after the day the exchange student arrived. Oh, but he didn't kiss you. Your teacher did. On purpose. Out of nowhere. In front of (almost) everyone. Yup.

Airhead+Being Nikki by Meg Cabot

Okay, first let me warn you I'm not done with Being Nikki yet, but I love it so much I just HAVE to write a review about it.

So, there's this girl, Emerson (also known as Em) Watts. She has an annoying little sister who is "like, totally in the in crowd(also known as  the walking dead)". She's in love with her best friend, Christopher, who sees Em as nothing but a person to play JourneyQuest with and to scoff at the walking dead. Until she dies.

I know what you're thinking!!! I read way too many books in which the main character dies. Oh well. Too bad for you.

Some funny quotes from "Being Nikki":

I mean, what girl wouldn't want a guy to go on a wild computer-hacking rampage against a majorly environmentally irresponsible corporation, just for her?

It would have been obvious to anyone looking at me as I staggered into school Monday morning just before the late bell rang, a cup of tea clutched in one hand and my Marc Jacobs tote full of overdue assignments and my MacBook Air in the other, that I hadn't had a good weekend. I know I looked particularly heinous. I'd tossed and turned all night, unable to sleep not just because Lulu Collins was hogging my Frette sheets and duvet, but because the guy I was hopelessly in love with? Yeah, well, he was in love too. With a dead girl.

Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin

It starts out with a girl riding a bike to the mall. Her name is Lizzie, and she's going to help her friend pick out a prom dress. Which was exactly what was on her mind when the car hit her. You might think this is the end of her story, but it's only the beginning.

Everybody Sees the Ants by A.S.King

This one is a little... strange. Well, all the books are strange, but this one, THIS one, was especially strange. His father is a turtle; never has any time for him or his mother because he too busy "cooking". But, that's okay. Well, at least for his mother. She's a squid; she's always swimming of she has nothing better to do, and sometimes even when she does. How does the boy handle all this, you ask? He hangs out with his grandfather. Oh, by the way, did I mention he's dead?

Grade: B-

The Name Of This Book Is Secret by Pseudonymous Bosch

The thing that makes this book interesting, is that you're not allowed to read the first chapter. Nope. The author doesn't even want to give you the danger of this book's secrets, but nobody can keep in a secret. Right? At least, that's what he says. I'm not so sure about it.

Anyway, I'll be generous and give this book a B.

Ready Player One by Ernest Cline

OMG! This book is "Completely fricking awesome" (said by Patrick Rothfuss) and I totally agree. It's even something I would say.(Girl #173: Yep.) It's 2044 and most of the world is composed of  computer-addicted-freaks. A famous video-game maker has made a computer simulation so real that just about every business has taken up there. You can even go to a virtual public school. Then, the dude dies. Like Willy Wonka, he doesn't have any family to pass down the business to. So, he hides an "Easter egg" somewhere in the game. Whoever finds it gets EVERYTHING.

Basically, this book is beast-mode. A solid A.

Switched by Amanda Hocking

I just finished this book last night. It was so good, I couldn't wait to borrow the next one from Girl #12 (a different friend) today. So, I went on Amazon.com, found the next book, and read the little "sneak peek" that was there. Okay, I'll tell you about the book now. You probably think trolls are short, multi-colored creatures but, really they look like us. The only difference is their magical powers. Wendy has never fit in to her family, and now there's actually a reason why.

I give this book an A-.

The Fault In Our Stars by John Green

Even if it's hard to believe, this girl is stranger than me. She's a high-school-aged girl taking college classes. Not healthy for a social life (Hers is even worse than mine). That is, until Gus (Augustus). Her first real friend.

I'll give this one an A-

Abandon by Meg Cabot

If you like fantasy, romance, and most of all, Ancient Greek myths, you'll love this book. Exactly as I have. Usually though, I would rather a bit more blood. At the beginning, I couldn't get through it because, well, (don't judge me when I say this) I actually feel the main character's feelings as their own. (Remember what I said in my first post about my friends ignoring me at lunch? Reading books like this makes up for my lack of a social life.)

I give this book a B+.

A random list of amazing books I've read: (not in any particular order, I just type as I remember)

*Graceling Series- followed by Fire and Bitterblue
*Uglies series- followed by Pretties, Specials, and Extras
*The Fault In Our Stars
*The Hourglass Door- followed by The Golden Spiral and The Forgotten Locket
*Maximum Ride series- I'm too lazy to list them all
*Gregor the Overlander- followed by 4 more (p.s. if you beg and plead I will tell you a secret about what I'm doing with the last book)

I know, I know that's not a lot, only twenty-something titles. I'll give you some more later. Peace out!
